Accenture Announces Technology Leadership Appointments

-- Paul Daugherty to lead technology architecture, Gavin Michael to lead technology innovation --

NEW YORK--()--Accenture (NYSE: ACN) announced two senior leadership appointments within its Technology organization, effective July 1, naming Paul Daugherty chief technology architect and Gavin Michael chief technology innovation officer. Both executives will report to Kevin Campbell, group chief executive – Technology.

As chief technology architect, Daugherty, 47, will have broad responsibility for expanding Accenture’s business in new and emerging technologies and managing the growth and development of Accenture’s specialized team of technology architects. He will continue to lead the company’s Advanced Systems & Technology delivery platform and provide leadership for the company's digital, web, social media, mobility and cloud computing areas, collaborating with leaders across the company.

As chief technology innovation officer, Michael, 46, will be responsible for leading Accenture’s innovation agenda including the company’s technology vision, research and development agenda, and technology alliances, strategy and execution. He will also lead the Accenture Technology Labs, Accenture's technology R&D organization that focuses on how to apply new and emerging technologies to solve business issues.

Daugherty and Michael will assume the management responsibilities held by Don Rippert, Accenture’s chief technology officer and managing director – Technology, who is retiring from Accenture after 30 years to become chief executive of Basho Technologies, an open source software company focused on big data.
