Autoliv Wins Toyota Award of Excellence

At Toyota Motor Corporation’s 2011 Global Supplier Convention in Nagoya, Japan, Autoliv Inc. (NYSE:ALV)(STO:ALIVSDB) – the global leader in automotive safety systems – was honored for its contributions during 2010. Autoliv was selected as a winner of the global Toyota Excellence Award for outstanding performance in “Value Improvement”. The award was given to Autoliv by Akio Toyoda, President of Toyota Motor Corporation.

In addition to the global award for “Value Improvement”, Autoliv Japan was recognized for its quality achievements.

“We are honored and delighted to have been recognized by Toyota, one of the most quality-minded vehicle manufacturers in the world”, said Autoliv’s CEO Jan Carlson at the Award Winning Ceremony in Nagoya. He added “Toyota has been instrumental in Autoliv’s quality work. Our production system – the Autoliv Production System (APS) – is based on the Toyota Production System (TPS), and many of our design and process engineers as well as production specialists have worked very closely with Toyota since the early 1990s”.

Today, Autoliv supplies Toyota in all regions with airbags, seatbelts and steering wheels. In addition, Autoliv’s tech centers in Japan, North America, Europe and China support Toyota with design engineering expertise in automotive safety and with crash testing capabilities.
