ST. LOUIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Missouri American Water presented its second annual Water Stewardship awards to six local governments that are members of the International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives (ICLEI). Award winners are the Missouri cities of Clayton, Creve Coeur, Kirkwood, Town and Country and University City and St. Louis County.
Becoming an ICLEI member starts with an evaluation of virtually every process and practice in the day-to-day work of delivering vital local government services. Members work to advance deep reductions in greenhouse gas emissions and achieve tangible improvements in local sustainability.
The Water Stewardship awards were presented by Missouri Department of Natural Resources Director Sarah Parker Pauley and Missouri American Water President Frank Kartmann.
