The New York Times Knowledge Network and Fairleigh Dickinson University Launch Online Academic Certificate Programs

NEW YORK--()--The New York Times Knowledge Network (www.nytimes.com/knownow) and Fairleigh Dickinson University (www.fdu.edu) are offering an innovative professional and career studies program providing online academic certificates in six areas of study.

The FDU and New York Times Knowledge Network program (www.nytimes.com/fdu) offers cutting-edge professional and career-focused online courses and certificates that prepare students for careers in six growing career areas:

  • Business, Technology and Communications
  • Global Leadership
  • Cybercrime and Computer Forensics
  • Global Security, Safety and Terrorism Studies
  • United States Homeland Security Studies
  • Global Healthcare and Human Services

These six undergraduate, accredited certificates include more than 35 online courses. The full course schedule is available at www.nytimes.com/fdu.

President Adams added that the programs are particularly geared toward current university students looking to supplement their degree programs, recent college graduates who want to add substance to their resumes and adults looking to revitalize their careers.

All courses will be taught by FDU faculty and feature content from The New York Times Digital Content Repository. Courses are open to all students and adult learners, and they may be taken individually or used toward a professional certificate, and/or as an academic minor.

The New York Times Knowledge Network, which uses the EpsilenTM platform, was launched in September 2007 to deliver lifelong learning programs on timely subjects.
