Dallas Water Utilities and Ameresco to Provide Tour of Biogas Facility; the New Energy Recovery Facility Will Save Money and Reduce Emissions

--()--Ameresco, Inc. (NYSE:AMRC)

What:

Dallas Water Utilities’ (DWU) staff members and Ameresco management will provide a tour of the City’s new 4.3 MW biogas capture and refining facility, which generates electricity and thermal load to power DWU’s facilities. The tour will include a look at the Digester Complex to show how methane is generated, followed by the Cogeneration Facility to demonstrate how methane is converted into electricity.

The energy recovery facility is expected to offset approximately 60 percent of the electricity that the DWU currently pulls from the grid. This is expected to save the City approximately $1.5 million dollars annually. Ameresco was chosen by Dallas to design, build and operate the plant, which is expected to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 19,150 metric tons annually.
