Santiago, Chile. May 26, 2023.- Sociedad Química y Minera de Chile S.A. (SQM) (NYSE: SQM; Santiago Stock Exchange: SQM-B, SQM-A) informs that its CEO met today with the Chairman of the Chilean National Copper Corporation (Codelco), who conveyed his official mandate, granting him the authority to represent the Production Development Corporation (Corfo) in the upcoming negotiations on the lease and operation of Corfo's properties in the Salar de Atacama for the foreseeable future. The Company and Codelco have agreed to enter negotiations, including with respect to SQM Salar’s existing lease which expires in 2030.

The Company expects these negotiations to be confidential and anticipates that the process may span several months. During this period, SQM expects to maintain to a policy of refraining from publicly commenting on press news or market rumors pertaining to the content or status of the negotiations. Once the final documents are signed, or in the event that the negotiations are terminated, SQM will communicate the result in accordance with applicable regulations.
