Explanation of Responses:

1. Mr. Roth is the chief executive officer, a trustee and the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Vornado Realty Trust ("Vornado"). As of June 26, 2017, Vornado was the sole shareholder of JBG SMITH Properties (the "Issuer"). Mr. Roth was elected as President of the Issuer on October 31, 2016. As the chief executive officer and a trustee of Vornado, Mr. Roth may be deemed to have a pecuniary interest in certain of the Common Shares beneficially owned by Vornado. Mr. Roth disclaims any beneficial ownership of the Common Shares.
