Item 8.01 Other Events.

Gen Digital Inc. (NASDAQ: GEN) announced today that on September 30, 2023, a judgment was issued by the U.S. District Court of the Eastern District of Virginia with respect to the May 2022 jury verdict in a patent infringement case filed in 2013 by the Trustees of Columbia University in the City of New York. The judgment by the Court multiplied by a factor of 2.6 the jury’s previous damage award of $185,112,727, and awarded interest, attorneys’ fees and an ongoing 1% royalty (we have removed the technology in dispute from our product offerings). We have read the court's judgment and respectfully disagree. We continue to strongly believe our technology does not infringe on Columbia’s patents and will appeal the matter.
